1. Clean it with just soap and water
Daily cleaning is easily handled with just warm water, soap and a soft rag. You can use mild detergent too.
2. Occasionally, do the deep cleaning
Deep cleaning is handled with glass cleaner; spray the cleaner on the countertops, let it sit for 2-3 minutes, and then rinse it off with a wet rag.
3. Wipe up spills at the earliest opportunity
It is best to react immediately and remove the spills with warm water and soap. Liquids like coffee, wine and tea can leave a permanent stain, so be sure to do this especially when it comes to these liquids.
4. Remove tough stains with adhesive cleaner
Even if you don’t remove the spill at the earliest opportunity, you can still easily remove it with adhesive cleaner. Pour a bit of the cleaner directly on the stain, let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes, and remove it with a soft cloth. After this, clean the countertop well with warm water and soap.
5. Use a cutting board on all occasions
Quartz is very resistant to scratches, but that doesn’t mean it is entirely scratch proof. You should use a cutting board to prevent any scratches from happening.
6. Always use mats and trivets
Quick temperature changes are not good for quartz countertops; the sudden changes can cause a break or crack. You shouldn’t place hot pans or pots directly on the countertops; instead, place them on a mat or trivet.
7. Avoid harsh cleaners
Cleaners you should avoid are oven cleaner, bleach, drain cleaners, dishwasher rinsing agents and similar. These highly acidic or alkaline cleaners can damage the surface of your countertops and ware off its shine. If any of these cleaners come in contact with the countertops, you can neutralize its effect by rinsing it off with water.
8. Use a putty knife to remove dried dunk
You can use a putty knife to remove hardened spills or buildup and a wet cloth to remove any residue.
9. Remove grease with degreasing cleansers
Spray the countertops with a degreasing cleaner that doesn’t contain bleach. Rinse it off with a wet cloth.
10. Avoid excessive force
Pay attention when carrying heavy objects around your countertops not to drop them; excessive force can chip and crack the countertop.
